Frequently Asked Questions: Children’s Wellness Curriculum

I already own the Children’s Stress Awareness curriculum. Does it make sense for me to use the Wellness Curriculum?

Yes, The Stress Awareness curriculum’s focus is stress-management. The Wellness Curriculum’s focus is accepting each others differences and making healthy food choices.

Can this curriculum be taught in a public school setting?

Yes, many schools including the Denver Public School system are using our products. All children can benefit from the message of wellness and the techniques presented in the lessons. Curriculum is non-denominational.

What age group is most appropriate?

Although the curriculum was written for children at the elementary school level; it can be used with slightly younger or older. You will need to be creative and make adjustments to the age group you are working with.

Do you accept purchase orders?

Yes we accept PO’s from schools. Email Rick@LiteBooks.net or call (800) 841-4204 for requirements.

How many lessons are in the curriculum kit?

There are 3 complete lessons but a variation of the creative activity or adding role playing can give you a whole new lesson.

Do the lessons need to be taught in order?

No, you can pick and chose your lesson and one is not a prerequisite for the other.

How long might each lesson last?

There are many variables that will affect the length of each lesson.
• How many children in your group?
• What are their ages?
• How many questions the children ask?
• How much time you spend on the movement activity?
• How much information will you offer during the lesson time?
I would estimate 45 minutes and realize that you can alter the length to fit your needs. The curriculum is designed to be user friendly and flexible. If you have limited time; you can break the lessons in half If you have a large group you can break a lesson down into centers and have smaller groups rotate around.

Do I need teaching experience to use the curriculum?

No, each lesson is written so that anyone with a desire to teach can make an impact. Each moment of the lesson is addressed from the moment you greet the children until the moment they leave.

I am thinking of purchasing the curriculum for use with my own children. Do you suggest it for families?

Absolutely! If you are willing to set the time aside for a lesson, I think your idea of having the whole family participates is great!

Will the art projects require me to purchase additional materials?

You will need to purchase crayons. Implementing more complicated art projects will require a few other items. The curriculum is designed to be turn key. With crayons in hand and copies of the art handout you will be able start immediately!

I am looking to incorporate the curriculum into our home setting. Would this be a good fit for only teaching only 1 or 2 children?

Yes, the only difference with having a small group is that the movement activity will be just two or three of you. It will still be fun and you can have more turns than if you were in a larger group. You can also invite dolls or stuffed animals to the group for extra creative play.

I am interested in the Children's Wellness Curriculum but concerned about how proper food choices are presented. We eat 60 - 90% raw foods depending on the day & try to make mostly vegetarian choices when we eat cooked food.

The curriculum and Wellness Pyramid is designed to accommodate any family’s diet. The pyramid categories are GRAINS, VEGETABLES, FRUITS, PROTEINS, WATER and EXERCISE. This art project also incorporates affirmations.
